Vodka shot!

Earlier this year we’d heard that Vodka, one of Brightons finest had met up some of the NFA boys and they’d all painted at the Midlands largest Hall of fame the Walsall Copperworks.

Obviously being 400mlheroes it was a nighttime trip down to do a bit of NTC.  We were not disappointed; contrary to rumors that the site was about to be built on, it was good to see that the Copperworks is still a hotspot for some of the best writers in the country.  While we were having a look around at what was new we found a piece by Kak from Infamous last words which had been up a while, and a couple of fresh pieces by local writer Ziner NFA.

A bit more NTC.

So here you go, a few NTC shots we’ve done over the past month. The first one was when we went down the time tunnel to do a burner but we got the wrong idea, then while we were up Kem and Mefs spot taking the shot for the steel horses show we got a few that the lads did from up there including a nice one of the whole building. Also in this set is a piece one of us did and one of us tried to destroy with molten metal, we nearly didn’t get this shot due to a bloke in the factory next to it telling us to move our car then watching as we snuck off past the factory down to the line. After about an hour we heard sirens and they came to an abrupt halt right above us we contemplated sloping off up the track but we had that much kit with us by the time we’d got it all together if they we’re coming down we’d still be packing up. So we waited for the inevitable and then we realised that the police really wouldn’t be interested in a couple of guys taking photos on a disused railway ………hope you like them…..more to follow soon…..honest.

Vomet

If there’s one writer in the Midlands who’s quickly making a name for himself its Vomet, in the past 4 years he has been relentless.  If you look at his work there’s no way you’d think he did his first piece Christmas 2008.  The only way to improve your skills so quickly and that’s to paint…paint…paint, and that’s precisely what Vomet has done, quickly building a reputation of being one of the Midlands most prolific and best writers… interview coming soon.

Kamoe NTC Copperworks

The Copperworks in Walsall were visited by some of Voms friends from Cardiff Saturday, we went down to get some NTC shots but the heavens opened just as we were waiting for it to get dark, we managed to get a couple before we got a nasty shock from the flashes.  Graff by Ziner and Kamoe….

400mlHeroes

So who are these 400mlHeroes?

;

Firstly there are two of us; we’ve been involved in graff since it all started in the UK. We are founder members of TWC (The Wild Criminalz) and RGT (Rogue Troopers) we’ve been actively involved in the scene on and off for 27 years. Basically we know our stuff, we call ourselves 400mlheroes but the real heroes are the guys and gals picking up the cans and giving us something to photograph.

;

What’s the difference between 400mlHeroes and all the other graff sites out there?

;

One thing that sets us apart from most graffiti sites is the quality of our photography and the fact that it’s all our own material. And with these pictures come the best interviews giving you a insight into the graffiti world. We’re creating our own unique style of photography, something that people will look at and say, “That’s done by 400mlHeroes”. We’re pushing our boundaries experimenting with different styles creating our own unique look. We’re going the extra mile to get these “Photograffs”, when we go out at night setting up shots it feels clandestine it gives us a similar feel to going out bombing. We’re setting up the shots then instead of taking a can of paint to a wall we’re painting with light. We’ve got some big ideas and we want to share them with you. In these pictures we’ve been experimenting with painting with light and exposures. Have a look and please feel free to comment on them, give us your feedback, let us know what you think.

Shok and Awe

Where the new Walsall college stands once stood another remnant of Walsall’s industrial past.  Left to ruin it was only a matter of time before the building was used for a different purpose.  In 2001 Walsall was graced with the presence of two of Europe’s finest artists.  Seakone and Shok1, Shok was local to Walsall at the time and Seak had come to visit.  Shok and Seaks abstract and organic styles bought the place back to life one more time.

The Copperworks

In 1999 Walsall’s James Bridge Copper Works shut down ending the 400 year Copper smelting industry in Walsall. So what happens to a 28 acre concrete jungle with 1km of wall? Thats right it gets painted, on 7/7/2005 Walsall’s very own Mr Vote discovered and painted it for the first time with Nems. The rest is history as developers are about to move in, plenty of the graff thats been painted (If not all) can be found with a quick Flickr search.
